Action for Carers moves to new database

We are in the process of moving from an older database system for holding our carers’ data, to a brand new one.

The old one was secure, but limited. The new system is much more efficient, easier for our staff to use, and allows us to do more.

If you hadn’t been in touch with us for over two years, we will have let you know to update your records with us – stating whether you wished to stay registered, or no longer needed us and wished to be removed.

A huge thank you to the many thousands of carers who have been in touch to tell us their preferences.

  • If you are staying – we look forward to continuing to support you!
  • If you have left us, we are honoured to have been able to support you while you needed us – thank you for all your kind words about our support.

Important reminder

If you have left us, but your circumstances change and you again need our help, it’s no problem at all. Just get in touch and we will register you. It’s simple and easy.

And don’t forget, you can also call our Helpline at any time for support – 0303 040 1234, choosing option 4. That’s open to all carers living in Surrey, registered or not.

Timeframes

The new database should be fully introduced in April. As the changeover is a little complicated, carers who have de-registered may still receive occasional communications up till March.

Similarly, after March, if you stop receiving communications, and think you may have been de-registered in error, please get in touch. It’s very simple to add you back in.
